Stepping, playing, rewinding and jumping to a date.

You control the clock. Nothing moves until you move it.
Stepping
Step forward prints the next candle. This is the mode to use when you are genuinely testing a decision — it forces you to commit before you see what happens.
Step back rewinds one candle if you want another look.
Stepping back does not undo a trade. If you have already opened or closed a position, rewinding the chart leaves that trade exactly as it was. The clock moves; your record does not.
Playing
Play runs continuously at the speed you choose — 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x or 16x. Use it to travel through quiet stretches, then pause when something interesting develops.
You can trade while it is playing, but most people pause first.
Jumping
Go to takes a date and time and moves straight there. Useful when you want to test one specific event and do not want to sit through the week before it.
The clock
The time in the top bar is simulated market time in UTC, not the time where you are. If you are used to your broker showing you a different session boundary, this is why.
Your own timezone can be set in Settings → Account, which affects how days are grouped in the calendar and reports.

| Step forward |
| Step back |
If you click step several times quickly, the clicks queue rather than being dropped — but they are capped at two deep so a triple-tap cannot run away from you.
