Setting | What it affects |

Timezone is worth setting properly. It decides where one trading day ends and the next begins, which changes your calendar and every day-based statistic.

Backtesting
Defaults applied to every new session:
Setting | Notes |

Default speed | Where the playback speed starts, up to 16x |
Default risk % | Pre-fills every order ticket — set it to what you actually risk |
Automatic break-even | Moves your stop to entry once a trade is up by one R |
Automatic screenshots | Captures the chart when a trade closes |
Costs
The spread toggle, on by default. See Spread and costs.
Leave spread on. A backtest with no costs will tell you a strategy works when it does not — particularly anything that takes small, frequent profits.
